Tusayan Community Trails Phase 2 Update

 Friends, Stakeholders and Visitors,

I hope you are having an enjoyable holiday season!

Here are some updates on Phase 2 of the Tusayan Community Trails Plan:

- A stakeholders meeting took place on December 4th.  The presentation that was given at the meeting can be viewed at this link: https://bit.ly/2RlTV3y

-Please find attached the stakeholders meeting notes as taken by the Tusayan Town Clerk and the notes for the presentation given by Sue Farley, Environmental Coordinator for the Kaibab National Forest.

-An update on the project will be given to the Town Council in the first quarter of 2019, date to be determined.

-A proposal and formal request letter has been sent by the Town of Tusayan to the Kaibab National Forest in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The document is available on the Trail Info page for download at www.tusayan-az.gov/trail-info.

-We are currently looking for people interested in joining a committee to determine the signage and interpretation of the Grand Canyon History Trail, which will tell the human history of the region. The committee will have two in-person meetings in 2019, if you are interested in joining or want more details please respond to this email.

Updates on the progress of the NEPA and the upcoming Town Council date will be sent out as they become available and posted on the Trail Info page. The Trails Master Plan is also available at this link www.tusayan-az.gov/trail-info.
