Tusayan Community Trails Update - Town Council Meeting, February 13th 3:00 pm

 Friends, Stakeholders and Visitors,

Trails Inspire will be providing an update on the Community Trails Plan at the Tusayan Town Council meeting on Wednesday, February 13th at 3:00 pm. The meeting will be held at Tusayan Town Hall, 845 Mustang Drive.

We invite you to join us to learn more about Phase 2 of the project. Objectives of the project are listed below.

  • Biological, cultural, wildlife, soil, watershed and viewshed surveys in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
  • Signage committee of representatives from the Kaibab National Forest, National Park Service, Tribal representatives and the landowners of Tusayan will provide guidelines on interpretation of the Grand Canyon History Trail.
  • Tribal Consult via the Kaibab National Forest Liaison
  • Signage plan for the trails system
  • Trail construction and development agreements between Town of Tusayan, Kaibab National Forest and private landowners.
  • Trail maintenance agreement between Town of Tusayan, Kaibab National Forest and private landowners.
  • Phase 3 construction and signage cost estimates

The Town Council will also have an opportunity to respond to the public comments recorded in Phase 1.5.
