Grand Canyon Overflow Park and Ride for Labor Day Weekend

August 28, 2019

 News Release

Grand Canyon, AZ- The Grand Canyon National Park Airport in Tusayan will be added as a free park and ride location for park visitors from Aug. 30 through Sept. 2, 2019, to alleviate some of the holiday traffic.

The Grand Canyon shuttle bus will add the airport stop to its Tusayan route, which begins at 8 a.m. and runs every 15 to 20 minutes until 9:45 p.m. The shuttle bus is free; however, riders must present a valid park pass upon boarding to ride the bus. Visitors using the airport parking can purchase a park pass at the Westwind counter in the main terminal or online at https://yourpassnow.com/r1s/.

The park shuttle buses are white with a green stripe and display the route name on the front and sides of the bus and only stop at designated bus stops. No eating, open drink containers or pets are allowed on the shuttle buses. Service dogs, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, are permitted aboard.

All of the park's buses are wheelchair accessible. The park does offer a Scenic Drive Accessibility Permit, which allows entry for visitors with mobility issues to some areas closed to public traffic. The permit is available at entrance gates and National Park Service visitor centers.

More information about bus routes and strollers, bicycles and wheelchairs aboard the buses is available at: https://www.nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/shuttle-buses.htm
