News Release: Grand Canyon School Board Selects Superintendent Finalists

The Governing Board of the Grand Canyon Unified School District met on Tuesday, April 15, to select the finalists from the applicant pool for the position of Superintendent.

The school district received seventeen completed sets of materials from applicants which were screened by members of the Governing Board. The Board instructed Consultant Mike Aylstock to offer interview invitations to five individuals. The finalists accepted the invitation to a two-day interview process on Monday, April 28 and Tuesday, April 29. In addition to being interviewed by the Governing Board, the finalists will have additional opportunities to learn about the district and community.

Each finalist will meet with a group of community/staff members, enjoy a hosted tour of the Grand Canyon National Park and surrounding area, be shown around the Grand Canyon School campus by student leaders and visit a classroom for a Q&A session with students, and meet with the District Office staff and Business Manager Kevin Dickerson. At the end of the school day on Monday, the finalists will have the opportunity to meet with Grand Canyon School District staff members.

Members of the Grand Canyon community are invited to a Community Forum with the Finalists which will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening in the Multi-Purpose Room. Interested community members can visit with each of the finalists who will be stationed throughout the room.
