Chamber of Commerce Seeks Funds for 4th

May 17, 2018

The Town of Tusayan is expected to contribute as much as $20,000 to help fund the Town’s 39th annual 4th of July celebration which is organized by the Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce. $12,000 of that would go towards a laser light show. Traditional fireworks are not an option because of the constant fire danger. The laser show provides a fireproof alternative.

According to the proposal submitted by the Chamber, costs include $2600 for street barricades and $5000 for tent renal and installation. The festival follows the annual parade. This year’s theme will be Grand Canyon Pride.
