Tusayan Waits For County Approval On Ten X Project

May 15, 2019

After spending as much as $800,000 to remedy the site of the 10X ‘affordable’ housing project, Tusayan is hoping Coconino County will sound the all clear and let construction begin. The town got into hot water with the county when it went ahead with constriction without getting needed approval from the county over flood plain issues.

At the May 8th Town Council meeting the contractor said the remediation work has been finished. Mayor Craig Sanderson said he wants something in writing from Coconino County that the necessary work has been done.

While the Town is waiting for authorization, it is paying the construction company more than $30,000 a month to maintain the site.
