News release: Charlie Gail Hendrix named to Town Manager Position

TUSAYAN, AZ – The Tusayan Town Council has named Charlie Gail Hendrix to the position of Town Manager.
The Town advertised nationally and received more than 30 applications for the position. After a thorough
interview process, the Town Council today approved a three-year contract with Hendrix. Her first day of employment is
July 9.
The selection process included Zoom interviews, essay questions, in-person interviews, a presentation to a
community forum, and background and reference checks.
Hendrix is an Arizona native with close to 20 years of public service experience. She attended law school in
Nebraska and practiced in rural communities, including several tribal communities. She served as a city administrator in
Nebraska. Her law work specialized in municipal administration and juvenile services law.
“The Town Council was unanimous in choosing Charlie from among a number of very well qualified applicants,” said
Mayor Craig Sanderson. “We were impressed with her grasp of the issues, her personable and cooperative approach, and her experience.”
“I thank the Council for this great opportunity to serve,” Hendrix said. “Our family is excited to become a part of the
community.” Hendrix and her husband have four children, two of them in college.
