Tusayan Skating Rink Could Be Ready As Soon As December
November 1, 2021
Tusayan’s synthetic “ice” rink should be up and running in time for the Christmas Season. The location would be the empty lot next to the McDonalds. Volunteers will grade the site as needed to make sure it is level. Town Manager Charlie Hendrix said the rink will be up for three months during the winter season and it will also include a “Santa Shack.” She has also been in contact with junior hockey leagues and figure skating boards to see if they would like to rent the facility to generate revenue to offset the costs as well as bring additional tourists to the area.
Costs for locals would be free on some days; other times there would be a minimal $5.75 entry fee.
