Tusayan’s brand-new Ice Rink opens December 18th. The Grand opening will feature a meet and greet with Santa from 11am to 1pm. The rink is located next to the McDonalds. The town has hired two seasonal workers to staff the facility which was purchased to prove local residents a place to recreate and as a way to draw more tourists in the winter months. 

It’s also time to tell Santa why you deserve to win a Helicopter Ride by writing to him and dropping your letter in one of the giant red mailboxes in the town of Tusayan or by emailing them to tusayanoffice@tusayan-az.gov and putting “Letter to Santa” in the subject line.

The best letter will win a helicopter ride for two from the Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours.

The Children’s Coloring Page Contest and Resident Window Decorating Contest is also underway. You can sign up for both via email at tusayantownmanager@tusyan-az.gov or via phone at (921) 638-9909. Prizes will be distributed for each contest. Everyone is eligible to participate.

For the Coloring Contest participants are asked to include their age, name and contact information.

For the Resident Window Decorating Contest please include your name, address and the approximate location of the decorated window on or before December 20th.

The entire community is invited to visit the Santa Shack from now until December 23rd at the Tusayan Town Hall. Appointments are recommended. Call 928-638-9909 . To ensure maximum safety due to COVID face mask and gloves will be provided.
