Candidates File For Tusayan Elections

April 5, 2022

Candidates have submitted their nominating petitions for Tusayan Mayor and Council.

Mayor Clarinda Vail is seeking re-election to another two-year term. She is being challenged by Vice-Mayor Brady Harris.

There are two open seats for four-year terms, the one that Harris currently holds and one currently held by Robb Baldosky, who is not seeking re-election. There are two candidates for those two open seats. David Chavez and Josh Collet. Chavez is a former councilmember.

The deadline to hand in nominating petitions was April 4. The packets have not yet been certified.

The 2022 Primary Election is Tuesday, August 2. Assuming there are no write in candidates, Chavez and Collet would both be automatically elected in August. In the absence of a mayoral write in candidate, the August election will determine if Vail or Harris wins the mayor’s race.

The 2022 General Election is Tuesday, November 8.
