July 15, 2022

Tusayan’s annual 4th of July celebration saw as many as a thousand people help Tusayan celebrate Independence Day.

The event featured a parade, including a kids’ bike parade, live music, Native American dancers, a laser show and a drone show.

Red Feather Lodge took first place in the parade float competition followed by Kaibab learning Center. Smokey Bear was the Grand Marshal.

The event was so successful, Town Manager Charlie Hendrix said they are already getting vendor requests for next year.

Tusayan Mayor Clarinda Vail said the event was a true collaborative effort, “I want to thank town staff and the countless volunteers, vendors, and participants who helped make the 4th such a special day. It’s a great way to salute our nation and celebrate this wonderful town.”
