Holiday Lights Shine In Tusayan

December 13, 2022

More than 100 people attended Tusayan’s first ever holiday lighting event that took place at the sports complex last week. The crowd consisted of mostly residents plus a few tourists.

The rec center from the Grand Canyon National Park also  brought patrons. The Grand Canyon School District participated as well. Santa arrived in a fire truck from Tusayan Fire District.  Mayor Clarinda Vail and several Council Members were in attendance. Banners will soon be directing travelers to the site.

The Santa Shack is now up and running. Town Manager Charlie Hendrix notes in her report to the Town Council that, “The Town has been blessed by the receipt of so many donations. We encourage everyone to participate as there is such an abundance of supply. Participants can shop for free.”
