Tusayan's Mayor and Council recently honored the memory of Council Member Kathryn Kanallakan who  passed away the week of March 13th. She was appointed to the Town Council and later elected after running unopposed in 2024.

In honor of her life and contributions to the Town, the Council will observed a moment of silence at the start of the April 8th Town Council Meeting.

After the meeting Mayor Clarinda Vail talked about her history of service which went beyond her time on the Town Council, "She was very involved with our food bank and worked at a lot of businesses in town. I knew her for many years and am thinking about her and her family. I really appreciate all of her years here serving in our community."

Tusayan Town Hall is accepting applications to fill the vacancy on the Town Council. Here is a link to the application.
