Tusayan Launches New Tourism Website, Continues To Focus On Promoting Local Tourism

April 14, 2025

The Town of Tusayan has created a new website to promote local tourism. Here is the link.
The website lists activities, attractions, lodging, trails, camping, wildlife, and more.

Over the past few years, the Town has taken a more active role in promoting tourism.
Previously, the Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce had those duties, but the Town decided to go its own way as the Chamber continued to promote venues outside of Tusayan despite using Town funds. More recently, the Chamber’s website went offline.

The Town of Tusayan is now recognized as the Designating Marketing Organization (DMO )for local tourism which gives the Town access to resources at the Arizona Office of Tourism.

Tusayan has been promoting local tourism at travel shows worldwide and spoke with 500 people at a show in Dallas.

The Town is launching the website as its tourism social media campaign continue to build momentum. During the month of February, it generated more than 500,000 impressions.

Tusayan is also working on a survey seeking input from residents on the best way to promote the community.

The Town took over the tourism DMO more than a year ago and the decision will help it weather uncertainties over international trade and a local government workforce.
Mayor Clarinda Vail hopes the new website as well as a recent proclamation in support of employees at the Parks Service and the Forest Service will help attract international travelers.
