A Local Bank Considers Opening A Branch In Tusayan

June 12, 2025

It’s been more than three years since  Tusayan had a local bank.

That could change.

Pinnacle Bank hosted a community meeting May 21st in Tusayan to discuss restoring banking access.

Local leaders, including the Mayor Clarinda Vail  joined bank representatives, business owners, and  residents to look at options such as opening a branch or installing an ATM Live, which would allow residents and businesses to deposit funds, cash checks, speak with a teller virtually, withdraw money, transfer funds and more.

Mayor Vail said, “It has been a challenge, and with very high costs to our local residents and businesses, by not having a local bank in recent years. Pinnacle bank has said they are bringing community banking back to rural Arizona and you don’t get much more rural than us. Since we lost Chase Bank, the Town Council passed a proclamation highlighting the need for a bank in The Grand Canyon/Tusayan area and have been diligently trying to find a bank. We are thankful that Pinnacle Bank representatives came to Tusayan and are showing that interest. We look forward to hearing more and with hopes we will have banking in our area again.”
