Stilo's Lack of Compliance Not To be Addressed By Town Council....For Now
January 7, 2013
On January 9th the town council was supposed to hold a special meeting to deal with the Stilo land use plan. It was expected to be held in closed session and to address the fact that Stilo is out of compliance on promises made to the town in exchange for its lucrative rezoning.
On January 7th, the Town Clerk announced the meeting was cancelled.
Stilo is out of compliance with its agreement because it has failed to find a water source for its massive redevelopment plans which would add three million square feet of commercial space and thousands of residences to the area. The portion of the agreement that addresses affordable housing for Tusayan residents has also failed to move forward.
The lack of compliance issue has been lingering since October and there has yet to be any formal action.
