Tusayan's Volunteer FireFighter Academy recently held a graduation ceremony.

The six week program offered by Tusayan Fire District. This was the 5th annual academy presentation. 

There were eight graduates this year.  

According to Tusayan Fire Chief Greg Brush, most of the graduates in this program go on to become volunteers for the Tusayan Fire District.  Over the years, many of the people who have graduated from this program went on to obtain their Structural Firelighter I/II and EMT-Basic certifications and were eventually hired as full time employees by the Tusayan Fire District.
