Tusayan Getting Wired?
November 12, 2014
For years the Town of Tusayan has been trying to improve the quality of internet service and there may be some progress. Commnet was recently hired to provide internet service to Town Hall. It’s now been asked to explore expanding service to residents. Currently fiber optic cable is not an option although it is expected to be years from now.
In the meantime Commnet is looking at bringing enhanced service via microwave signals. It would be a consumer service, which means your would have to subscribe.
Commnet’s John Champagne told the Town Council November 5th, “This is a challenging area and it needs a stop gap until fiber gets built.”
The Town asked Champagne to explore a consumer service. He’s expected to get back to them in about a month.
