The Six Million Dollar Budget
June 7, 2015
Tusayan’s Town Budget sits at around $6 million. That’s the amount set aside to serve a town with a population of 500. The money includes $100,000 to cover costs associated with the Mayor and Council, $411,000 for staff salaries and benefits and $235,000 for lawyers.
There is also $1.2 million set aside for a Water Enterprise Fund in case the Town decides to get into the water provider business. Councilman Fitzgerald says this fund inflates the budget and should be removed, “It’s not a realistic figure. There’s no plan for it. There’s no reason for it other than to increase the bottom line of the expenditure limit.”
Fitzgerald cast the only vote against the budget. Here is a link to the entire budget which still needs final approval.
