And then There Were None
August 26, 2015
The departure of Bill Fitzgerald from the Tusayan Town Council leaves a major void. Fitzgerald was the only member of the Town Council not employed by Stilo or Stilo business partner Elling Halvorson.
As a result he was the only one who regularly questioned Stilo’s controversial development project which would add three million square feet of commercial space and thousands of new homes to the environmentally fragile area next to the Grand Canyon National Park.
As of August 26th, the only applicant to replace Fitzgerald is John Schoppmann, who also works for Halvorson (Papillon Airways). He has lived in Tusayan for 2.5 years.
The deadline to apply is August 27th. Unless someone from outside the Stilo/Halvorson circle of influence steps forward the entire Tusayan Town Council will be employed by the people behind a controversial development.
We will keep you posted.
