Tusayan Approves Dark Skies Resolution
November 29, 2015
The Tusayan Town Council has approved a resolution signaling its intent to become a dark skies community. By a unanimous vote, the council approved a resolution giving Tusayan three years of provisional status.
To make that status permanent the town will have to implement and enforce lighting codes, educate the community and encourage citizen support of dark skies. Mayor Greg Bryan said, “It’s important. We know the (Grand Canyon) Park is working in their efforts and hopefully we can work together to create that as a community.
