Canyon Shuttle Service Extended
March 30, 2016
The Tusayan Town Council has entered into a formal agreement to extend the Grand Canyon Shuttle Service.
The objective is to expand the shuttle bus service by five weeks. That means the shuttle service will run from May 7 to October 9.
There is good reason for the expansion. Ridership on the Tusayan route increased by 64% in 2015.
Tusayan is covering the cost of the extended service with the bill not to exceed $75,000.
Mayor Craig Sanderson says if the ridership continues to be robust, he would expect this expansion to be an ongoing project.
Doug Lentz, Chief of Concessions at the Grand Canyon National Park said the expansion is a great team effort and is good for everyone.
