Restrooms at Town Park Open for Business

May 10, 2016

It took a few years and thousands of dollars but the restrooms at the Town Park in Tusayan are open for business. They were formally opened and dedicated May 5th, along with new sidewalks.

The facilities were built with substantial funding from the federal government. Clarinda and John Vail assisted with the sewer and water hook ups.

Mayor Craig Sanderson cut the ribbon as a crowd looked on. Work on the park is far from over. The land was provided by the Grand Canyon School District. The town and the district continue efforts to construct a soccer field, a baseball diamond, and a track.
They are also working to move and improve a road that runs through the park.

Sanderson said, "Those are some big projects coming down the road. Hopefully they won't take as long as the bathroom did. It's a governemnt project and it does take some time to get the I's dotted and the T's crossed."

The bathrooms are on an auto timer lock system are are open from 7am to 10pm.
