Town Council Update
November 22, 2016
Tusayan’s Town Council is still waiting for the final deed transfer on the Ten-X property. That needs to happen before any construction can begin on the affordable housing project.
The Council is still working on a plan to bring high speed internet to town. Members met in executive session to determine if the Town can own the system and provide the service. The Town signed an agreement for a consultant to look for conduits that would house fiber optic cable along Highway 64.
The Town is also looking into purchasing land in order to situate Town employee housing. Members met in executive session to discuss that.
The Town Council is also keeping tabs on the Arizona Department of Transportation’s efforts to write a master plan for the airport. Stakeholders include the Town, local businesses, vendors, Native American communities, and Environmental groups.
