Times Up Tusayan

April 23, 2017

Following a continuous meeting in which numerous people spoke out against Tusayan’s building height increase, the Tusayan Town Council is thinking about limiting public comment at Town Council meetings.

The item was on the April 19th agenda as a discussion item concerning the length of council meetings which sometimes go more than three hours. But the agenda item soon turned to a discussion on public comments.

The council is considering limiting public comments from three minutes to five minutes per person.

Councilmember Becky Wirth said by setting a time limit, it ensures information is 'fact-based not emotiona- based.'

Councilman Al Montoya also suggested this reporter move to the back of the room because the typing was disturbing him.
